OCI's main project is an orphanage located in Mazabuka, Zambia called Docsek Home. Visit the Docsek Home website for more information. In addition to helping these organizations, OCI endeavors to help the community of Mazabuka through various gifts of blankets, school supplies, medical supplies, and gifts to hospital patients each time we visit there.

Security fence around Docsek Home Theft, vandalism and crimes against child-
ren are problems in Mazabuka.  A security fence is an absolute necessity, so OCI
raised the funds to have this fence built.  Thanks to donations, the children are much safer than before.
Chicken Farm

To help Docsek become self-sustainable,
we raised funds to purchase a small farm
where broiler hens are raised.  These
chickens provide food for the home, and
also income.
Children receiving school supplies

Many children simply cannot afford to

attend school.  Thanks to OCI, donations

of school supplies were made to help the children.  Besides school supplies, the

children need to purchase uniforms, black

shoes and white stockings to be able to

attend school.  They are also assessed

fees.  The more funds we can raise to help children attend school, the brighter their

futures become.

Truck loaded with supplies

Our loaded truck - here we are with

our supplies packed up and ready to head

to the airport to fly to Zambia.

Mother/infant after receiving toiletry bag Another project that OCI undertakes is distributing toiletry bags to local hospital patients.  These bags contain
a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, washcloth, deodorant, shampoo, etc.  This mother shown holding her infant in the
hospital just received her toiletry bag. You
can see the the conditions at the hospital
are quite dim.

be able to eat every day.  Schools do not provide any type of food at all.  OCI
donates money to the local schools to help them purchase ingredients to make
porridge.  This helps to ensure that children have at least one meal a day.
Mazabuka family with donated blankets When we travel to Zambia, we always bring money to purchase blankets to distribute
to needy families.  Your gift of only $5.00
can keep someone warm during the cold months in Zambia.
OCI board members donating medical supplies

OCI board members are shown here

at a Mazabuka medical clinic.  Medical

supplies are in short supply and our

donations help to ensure that proper

medical care can be given.
