Welcome!!
Thank you for visiting our site and
giving us the opportunity to share with you who and what we are. OCI is a volunteer
run, non-profit, tax-exempt charitable California corporation
created for the purpose of helping orphans infected/affected by HIV/AIDS in third world countries.
Currently, our largest
project is an orphanage in Mazabuka, Zambia called Docsek Home. We chose Docsek
because of its location in Africa. As most people know, Africa is a land that has suffered terribly from the AIDS epidemic. Famine,
disease and poverty have affected the general population. Parents are dying,
leaving their children to fend for themselves.
Docsek was created to give these children a safe, loving home where they will have
a nurturing environment, good health care and a
good education. All of their physical,
emotional and spiritual needs are being met there.
OCI has a goal to make Docsek Home self-sustainable, enabling us to continue on to build similar
projects in other areas. We are funded totally by donations of caring individuals. OCI was not
formed to benefit any individual, except for those in our supporting projects. We
do not have an office, salaries, cars, expense accounts or travel reimbursement.
Our reimbursement is in the joy of being able to help. Be assured that every cent
that is donated to OCI is given in full to the project that a donor designates.
OCI is a hands-on organization. Our director makes frequent visits to Zambia at
her own expense to help oversee the running of the home. She is in constant contact
by email and telephone when she is not in Zambia. We invite you to join us on a
future team. This will not only give you a chance to get to know the director and
her vision for OCI, but also the opportunity to get to know the children who are
directly benefiting. We guarantee that a trip to Zambia will change your life! Please
visit our "Team Travel" page for more information.
We sincerely appreciate your interest in our organization and hope that you will
join us in helping and sharing what we have.
